After a short delay due to issues with a few guests being unable to connect to the Zoom meeting as they had the incorrect invite address, Cllr Moseley opened the meeting at 7.36pm and welcomed all the online attendees.

Open Parish Meeting

To determine the name and extent of the extension of road name in Millthorpe as requested by residents (19:37:00)

 

1.1

Five residents of Millthorpe expressed a range of views regarding the adoption of “Millthorpe Drove” as the official address for all houses in Millthorpe. No consensus was established and it was agreed that the Chairman would arrange for a poll to be taken from all residents of Millthorpe to resolve the issue.

Parish Council Meeting – Public Forum

Chairman’s Opening Remarks (20:02:00)

 

1.1

Cllr Moseley opened the meeting and welcomed those attending and explained that the following 15 minutes were open to members of the parish but with individuals limited to a three-minute time limit.  He also explained that the parish council were under no obligation to answer any questions at this time.  He also pointed out that this will be the last PC meeting before the Parish elections in May and encouraged parishioners to come forward and stand for election.

Public Open Forum – 15 Mins (20:03)

Mrs Christine Green raised several questions regarding the content of the commercial lease awarded to Aliro Ltd including; responsibility for the cost of building insurance, pavilion opening times, if a change of use was required, and the long-term cost to the parish? Mrs Green also asked if the parish could see a copy of the lease? Answers were deferred until Item 6.

Jane Keeley expressed dissatisfaction that the villagers have not been given the same consultation with the lease award that had been given to the renaming of the Millthorpe properties.  An answer was again deferred until Item 6.

Rebecca Drive echoed the comments of Jane Keeley.  An answer was again deferred until Item 6.

Joyce Taylor stated that the concerns expressed over Aliro Ltd being awarded the lease without public consultation and the issue had been swept aside.  An answer was again deferred until Item 6.

Graham Brewin questioned why the temporary clerk had been dismissed? He also asked why several months of PC minutes were not present on the PC website?  The chairman chose not to reply on personnel issues.

Annette Hennessy express disappointment that the manifesto produced two years ago during the previous PC elections that included transparency, communication and bringing the community together had not been fulfilled?  The chairman stated that he could not comment on ambitions stated by individuals from two years ago.

Police: None.

 

5.b

County Council: Cllr Martin Hill explained that with regard to the flooding on West Road that Highways are committed to Jetting the surface water blockages that are causing the obstruction and that the sewage issue reported on West Road is being investigated by both Highways and Anglian Water in order to resolve the issue.
